SOCIB and TMOOS - IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) in the final meeting of MyOcean

SOCIB and TMOOS - IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) teams, jointly with 120 researchers from across Europe have worked for 2 days in Mallorca reviewing products and services created within the framework of the European project 'MyOcean follow-on’. MyOcean project is an initiative involving 61 institutions in 29 countries working now for 10 years with the aim of enhancing Europe predictability and marine monitoring capacities by means of a regional and global observing system through stations, tide gauges, drifting buoys, anchored buoys and the latest developments in oceanographic instruments.

This marine monitoring network is positioned as the forerunner of the future monitoring service Copernicus Marine Environment (CMEMS), being funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the EU for Research and the current program, Horizon 2020.
