SOCIB HF RADAR facility presented at the Fourth Meeting of the Global High Frequency Radar Network meeting

The 2015 meeting of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Global High-frequency (HF) Radar Task took place on 22-23 September 2015, in Heraklion (Crete, Greece). This meeting coincided with the Seventh Session of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) Regional Alliances. The Global HF Radar Network is a new international network of the combined efforts of research institutions, governments and companies to create a global system of measuring surface currents. In this framework, the SOCIB HF RADAR facility activities were presented by Julien Marmain, emphasizing the simple access and the high quality of SOCIB HF RADAR data velocities. Recent results based on the integrated use of HF radar velocities in multi-platform approaches were shown with focus on circulation studies in the Ibiza Channel and operational model validation.
