"Follow the Glider" at the Science Week 2015
SOCIB presented two activities for school kids consisting of a glider presentation introduced by SOCIB Engineer Albert Miralles and a "Follow the Glider” activity based on the Web Educational Application that was lead by Tomeu Canyellas from SOCIB's Outreach Service. He presented to the students and teachers (IES Antoni Maura) a guide on this tool and on how to use it. This activities were done in collaboration with IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) and the Balearic Islands CSIC Institutional Delegation.
The Week of Science and Technology, since 2001, it is organized on a national basis with the objectives of bringing science to the public of all ages, stimulate the taste for scientific knowledge and encourage the participation of citizens in scientific issues by conducting outreach activities in museums, universities, research centers, technology parks, etc. Its main feature is that institutions and research centers open their doors for two weeks for the citizens to know the latest developments in science and the main lines of research that scientists are developing.
